One of the things that separates the United States from the animals in the rest of the world is our ability to hold calm elections and transition power smoothly.

I could see a few little bands of people who might use an Obama defeat as an excuse to throw some crap through windows, but by and large it will be only a media event.

There have been tons of threats re: violence, looting, etc. in the past two weeks if Obama loses. There have also been multiple assassination threats against Romney's life. I partly blame the media, specifically MSNBC, for throwing gas on these flames. The past two days, they've continually run stories about alleged vote suppression, intimidation etc. and have said that the only way that Romney wins is if these tactics work, or they rig the election. Back to the original topic, yes, I think there will be violence. No, I don't think it will happen here.
