Briles is trash, but his son in law is Lebby, his grandkids were there. He was on the field after the game as all the families were. He wasn't on the sidelines or there in any official capacity.
It sounds like he's persona non grata at Big XII schools, or maybe all NCAA schools. AFAIK, he didn't do anything to OU in particular, so that's the only reason I could think of for his presence to be such a lightning rod that they'd address it with Lebby before he was even hired.

Yeah, this seems like a big nothing.

Seems like a deep dig to get offended at something.

According to the AD, there were rules against him coming to OU sidelines prior to the game. “…boundaries we previously set…”
I believe the issue is why was he on the field when there was already an understanding that he shouldn’t be there.

The egotistical sucker probably took it on himself to walk down there not caring about the consequences to his son in law. What is a bigger deal is who in the heck hooked him up with SOONER gear.

It's weird how that works out, I'm a Switzer fan and he's the king of Norman basically but his hands were not exactly clean back in the 80's, lots of shady stuff was going on down there and he lost control of the program. Lots of drugs and thugs. Briles will never catch a break no matter where he goes, his son is at TCU and had just as much involvement as any other coach at Baylor.
30y-40y difference is probably the only difference between the two, I could probably be pretty accurate and say it went on at universities across the nation back in the day, it was just easy to cover up then. Social media, cams nearly everywhere now. It's hard to hide the truth for long now, technology hasn't made people more honest, but it's sure made folks easier to prove or disprove their guilt.

I think a lot has to do with the nature of what was going on at OU v's Baylor. I don't know much about OU/Switzer other than the drugs and airport stuff, but I'm sure between the nature of the incidents and of course the time when it happened plays a big factor in it.

I was a little hesitate to jump on the Les Miles train when he came to KU, University went all out even making a stupid parody with Self/Miles from Step Brothers. We will never live that decision down. I think every University is scared shitless of another Penn State or Cuze situation.

There was an UZI incident, don't know if there were any rape allegations, can't really remember but the crown jewel was Charles Thompson in cuffs in an orange jumpsuit on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Wild times back then for sure, win at any cost. All the major football programs were dirty it was just who didn't caught. It still goes on to this day I'm sure. Just got Charles Thompson's book so I'm sure it will be an interesting read.

I think they did for sure, but damn he was just with families on the field after a game. Again, he's trash, but cmon.... grandkids and daughter. I didn't like seeing him in OU apparel.
