Worst OL play in recent program history, coincidence maybe or maybe not.
That has more to do with no returning starters and early season injuries than anything else. Although it still needs improvement, the o-line play was quite a bit better after they got a stable lineup.

I still say calling this college football is just silly. Yeah, I know there's always been money flowing. But now they bounce around at will and collect big checks for playing. So, what makes this 'college' football? The notion they have a full ride scholarship in the mix? Silly to me. Call it what it is, minor league pro.

It’s called college football because the programs are affiliated with universities and the athletes are all student-athletes. If you want to quibble about it being called amateur vs. semi-pro, I’m with you on that, but that, IMHO, has no bearing on it being called college football.

I wonder how their classwork and grades are going? 😂 The whole thing is about money and has been for a very long time.

Pretty the same direction as ‘college basketball’ which is a one or two season pro training camp.
I have to disagree on that. The NFL and NFLPA have both been pretty vigilant in protecting college football, in sharp contrast to what the NBA did.

It doesn’t hurt that there are basically no football players coming out of high school who are ready to play in the NFL, either physically or mentally. Heck, there are few enough who are ready to play college football when they first set foot on campus.

Plus, the players in the NFL, if not the union, have a vested interest in keeping college players out of their ranks as long as possible—every new player who goes into the pool pushes an old player out.

Yeah but college football was synonymous with amateur status. It's far from amateur football now. I guess I'll give you it's college/university branded still, but that's it.
