Tried smoking chicken quarters again this evening, and they turned out better than last time. :thumb:

Lowes had a flash sale last Sunday. Portable tabletop pellet grill normally priced at $299 on sale for $149. Got to the RVPark Wednesday.
Ran it for a couple hours at 400* last night to burn it in. Man, that stove will get to 550* quickly.
So, tonight for its initial cook we chose salmon on a cedar plank. Cooked at 400* along with two ears of corn in the husk until the internal temperature was 140* then took off to eat.
Dang that was some fine eating. Finished off the meal with some sliced garden tomatoes from the farmers market. Salt, pepper and a little parm on top for dessert.

The fact that Gordon Ramsay is a celebrity chef means absolutely nothing to me. However, speaking honestly, the Beef Wellington I had at Hell's Kitchen in Las Vegas was one of the absolute best meals I've ever had at a restaurant. It was pricey (company paid thankfully), but having had it once, I would splurge once or twice to have it again at this new spot they are going to build in OKC.

Arg!!! I stink at pie crusts. It’s my nemesis!!!!! Still, doesn’t keep me from trying. Made a fresh nectarine (got a flat at Sam’s) pie and rather than just placing a crust on top I decided to take some oak leaf and acorn cookie cutters to it, hoping it tastes better than it looks. At first glance, I thought you were using Goldfish crackers for a crust and thought, "Well, that's different in a good way!"

I'll certainly have to try the nectarines in a pie!
