This is the toughest hiking boots i ever found around 40+ years ago, i have never seen of a pair ever having the sole come apart or any of the sewen leather coming lose.
Took just wearing them a little at a time over the past 40 years to get them some what broken in.
Their not made anymore and they were only $65 US back then.
$65 40+ years ago, that was some real money for a young man getting a start in life.

No worries, my feelings don't get hurt very easy. Here are your answers

* Danners - just the other day. Irish Setters, because they are 1200 Thinsulate - not very often and it has been a good long time
* Irish Setters - 25 or 30 year ago. Danners - 15 years ago
* a long time, they sit in my closet
* my feet do not get cold, pretty rare, even in single digit temps so one day I realized that I wasn't sure why I was wearing them; and besides, they are kinda clunky compared to flip flops and tennis shoes (in the winter). I could probably wear my flip flops in the winter too, but would probably have people looking at me sideways.
Those would be my Q's if I were to look at buying a used pair. Not so much for your stuff...unless you were just answering them. The para in the middle was answering your Q as to how I knew his bootsoles would fall apart.

I bought my last pair of Danner Raptor boots (the taller, brown boots) over 15 years ago. They were my all-around work boot while driving a propane truck in the mountains of CO and northern ID. Haven't worn them much in the last few years because they're a little heavy for OK weather most of the time. Naturally, Danner discontinued them.

The shorter pair are Danner something or others that I wore on the street for 3 or 4 years. After I retired from LE (in 2003) they became a backup motorcycle riding boot. Those and the Raptors are recraftable. I may break down and do that one of these days.

I bought a set of Danners at Wilderness Adventurer in Tulsa in 1985 and hunted a zillion miles in Colorado and Wyoming and home, I had Danner resole them several times until the last time I sent them in they returned they had finally rotted out . I bought a pair of Danner Elk Hunters on the way to Wyoming one year in Nebraska at the Cabelas on I 80. I had a lady fit my boots and I wore them around in the store for an hour while goofed around and ate lunch in their diner. Than found the Lady that fit me and she walked me out with the box and checked me out and I wore those boots .for a week hunting with my buddy up there at Laramie. That was probably 15 yrs ago........
great store was in there a bunch when i was a kid started Repelling about 12 years old off of Lafortune Stadium

That was where I bought mine I was heading to Africa to work on old C47 as I did in the Air Force It did not turn out exactly good. Never believe what you read in a magazine wanting AC mechanics in Africa.
