Call me part of the problem then; I voted for Romney because he WASN'T Obama.

That is just too cute that you think they're different people.

Romney promised to get rid of obamacare. Big difference.

Riiiiiight. Because Obamacare was absolutely different than Romneycare (and not at all derived from Romneycare).

I've beat that drum enough before the elections so I don't feel like debating it anymore, but I will say that based on how RomneyCare went down the way it did in MA, there's no way he would have batted down .gov health care (even if he re-named it and changed subtle things that made Fox News happy).

You seem to forget that Rommney was a repub that got into office in a dem state.
He followed the wishes of his constituants.

During the election he continually stated that it was the states that needed to determine if they wanted social medicine. Its not the Federals job to do that.

States rights. Anybody remember that little thing?

They are. One's an arrogant ass with little-known history while the other one at least has some sort of known track record. Romney wasn't my first choice but he was the only choice. And that's why I probably won't vote for the presidential race in 2016 since it's pretty much become an Onion headline.

I haven't seen my doctor in a few years so I have no clue what his thoughts are on it . . . But, my wife works for one of the big bad medical device companies (St. Jude Medical) and we are praying we can pay off our debt before she gets fired.

Right. Because Romney never said anything to contradict that statement... like in his failed congressional run where he talked about a national health-care plan - it's on record (he actually said RomneyCare needed to be pushed at a national level several times). I'm not going to argue this point anymore though - if you honestly think he's that much different then there's not much I can do to disprove that (other than show his history which screams my side of the argument), because he'll never be president - you can thank the republican voters for making that happen.

Again, I'm not trying to steer this thread off-course, but you realize Obama had more political experience than Romney did. He was both a state senator (for two terms) and then served in our nations congress for one term. Romney failed at a national congressional run (and if you look at his campaign - it was exactly the opposite of his presidential campaign) and only served what... one term as governor? As for his "business experience" - he worked at Bain (which received corporate welfare... and a lot of it).

The fact that the election is over and people are still singing Romney's praises in complete ignorance to these facts absolutely blows my mind.

Romney had medical lobbyists in his pockets and ObamaCare might have undergone a name change, but we'd still be paying stupid-high taxes for RomneyCare (he even started to change his tune by talking about reforming or revising ObamaCare - it wasn't going anywhere).

You guys all realize that we can focus on the fact that Obama sucks without lying about how awesome Romney was or would have been right?

Right. I don't think voting for Romney would've changed a thing with Obamacare but I voted for him anyway because he looked presidential. :D

But back to the topic; This healthcare plan sucks a baboons inflamed anus. Quality of care goes downhill while costs and layoffs go uphill. Thanks, socialists!

Where is she working for SJM that allows you to live in BA?

On topic: Push it through, they voted for it, make it happen Cap'n. Politicians vote for the dumbest sh*t and then when they realize its a bad idea try and cover their mistakes. Made your bed, now lay in it.
