Did anyone sell Christmas cards when they were a kid?

I sold cards one year, had a paper route, mowed lawns, then moved up to pumping gas at a full service station. All before I was 14.
So did I. All except pumping gas. I wanted that job but my buddies uncle owned the station so he got it.
The paper route and mowing lasted a few years but card sales faded quickly. I did get a US regulation bugle out of the deal but never got the Mossberg .22 I wanted.
How times have changed.

i made some good money selling Christmas cards. I bought a new bicycle and my family our first TV. It was black and white. The TV cabinet was about 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide and the screen was 6 inches by 6 inches. It cost $125.00. The bicycle cost me $15.00. I probably wore out a pair of shoes. We lived in Astoria New York on the 43rd floor of a building. The year was 1955. The same year the Brooklyn dodgers beat the New York Yankees inj the World Series. Every kid I knew had tickets. We were let out of school early if we went to the games. Tickets cost 50 cents for kids. I sat next to first base. First and only time I ever beat my Dad. He was an avid Yankees fan. When the Dodgers left Brooklyn I quit watching baseball.

Now that's some history!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My grandparents had the first tv in the town they lived in, they used to invite people over to watch it. It was in their basement for years after that. I think my 1/2 brother latched on to it. It was like 4 feet tall 2 feet wide with a blonde wood cabinet. I think the screen on it was kind of amber. The screen may have been 10" by 10", I don't know what the viewing area was, I never saw it turned on. They also had the first color tv I ever watched. Everyone had a green tinge to them. Oh yeah, I was the remote.
