Interesting thread

I grew up with Mom playing Dean Martin, Sinatra, Perry Como and Dad's, Marty Robbins, Roger Miller and then throw in Buddy Holly and Elvis.
I was listening to Willie, when Willie wasn't cool. I'm into '50s, '60s and '70s rock. '80s and '90s country, Celtic Woman, and any other GOOD MUSIC.

I think I've told, I came home from work, oldest son has his pickup parked in middle of the yard, doors open. 35 teenagers standing around. He calls out, "Dad, you like my CD?" Hank Williams,"Kawligia" is blaring.
I walk in the house and get blasted, Wif says, "you like? I got the 'Purple Rain' CD?"
I go to the bedroom and turn on TV and "Twilight Zone" is starting.
I went to the bar for a couple hours.

We had a coffee bar, '90s through '03. I had bought a CD display of 50 CDs, 10 different assorted. The first to sell out was Glenn Miller. Second was Billie Holiday. 3rd was Wolfman Jack favorites.

I have a STACK of old vinyl. Wif's Grandmother gave me a CRATE full of her old vinyl. Christmas, I hear music, go into living room. Grandkids are going through the albums. Playing is 25 biggest hits of the '20s. (1920s). Oldest Grandson (his Dad mentioned above) says, "that is cool album."
Told him, good music is good music and Rap is cRap.

I've been stuck in the 70s since....I guess the 70s. Even when I was in high school in the early 80s I listened to The Doors, Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc... Waylon, Willie, DAC, real country.

All that went to crap in the late 80s, and I found myself listening to KOOL in Tulsa - 60s stuff mostly. We have no good stations here any more. Some folks think rhyming to a drum machine is rock, and Garth Brooks is country.

I guess it is 80s today in our office. I heard some Phil Collins "in the air tonight" and expected to see one of our staff members, that lived through the 80s, rocking out. Nope our two little front desk girls, both under 20. They look up and say "look we found this retro music radio and are listening to oldies"...
I mean the disrespect coming out of these kids mouth these days...
