We unfortunately eat at restaurants more than we like to. Food prices have gone through the roof everywhere.
A speciality burger and fries in something other than a fast food place is up to $16-$18 dollars in most places. Go to tourist areas, a couple of burgers, fries and a drink may cost at least $40 or likely more depending on how popular the establishment is.
Throw in a couple of cocktails, you have a $60 lunch.
It’s expensive out there.

That is exactly the reason my wife and I don’t eat out often. I miss the days when I was a kid on road trips, buy a quart of milk, loaf of bread and some baloney and that filled us up.
Or, go to IHop and pay $14.00 for breakfast…I’d rather take the $14.00 and buy a pound of bacon, dozen eggs and loaf of bread and have eggs and bacon for several breakfast meals.

There are several places I no longer eat at because of shrinkflation. Some places I enjoyed quite a bit, but they priced themselves out of my business.

I’ll spend some money on a lot of things, food is not one of them. Especially when it’s not consistent.
