I have seen thermostats advertised for plugging a crock pot into them for sous vide cooking.
The crock pot is full of water and has a plastic bag with the meat sealed inside.
Exactly our method. Amazon has an inexpensive temperature controller that one plugs the crock pot into with the controller plugged into the home outlet. You can set the accuracy to +\- 1 degree F.

This is what we use as well as a half dozen of our friends after introducing them to the redneck method.
Or, one can use a sous vide heater for $600 or more.

This is why my wife and I quit eating out a couple years back! The feeling you get when they just stick it in without any lube is anything but enjoyable. We went to our old Pre-Covid restaurant and enjoyed our meal but once the $40 for the meal and 20% for a tip and another 10% for tax, set in it just made the entire meal suck. $55 for nothing special really made us feel like fools for allowing ourselves to be taken advantage of.
