This death is caused by compression I testified in congressional hearings on this type of death http://www.gao.gov/products/GAO-09-719T This appears to be nine hundred pounds of stupid or negligence unless there is asphyxiation caused by pepper spay or cardiac arrest. Makes no difference man was alive before the take down he is dead after. if it is a compression death charge them.

Exactly! The guy was obviously out/dead, but these ****ing scum bags did nothing.

I love the one piece of crap that said, "Stop resisting!" When the guy was dead or unconscious. That's training there...... On what to say to be legal, while f'ing someone up!

Oh yea...... 5 on 1 for no crime, other than being a big guy that does not bow the the shield????

Let's stop screwing around and just put the SS badge on their arms!

what brand?
it was all aguilla 3 different types it was 5.80 or 6.80 + tax don't remember I bought four boxes of match for my anshutz since match is hard to find on shelves. some of it was that primer only 22 gr stuff. I went Friday looking for a .44 went Saturday to get a case for my 45-70 I just bought( because I couldn't find a .44 with 8 inch barrel) still had at least a hundred my buddy went this morning said all they had was the .22gr stuff. it was all the same price. so either way 500 rounds would have been more than 60 actually.

Man, I would hate to be LE. Too much **** can go wrong and people will want to lynch you for decisions made under duress.

As to the video, I didn't see any egregious offense. Paramedics were very quick to the scene and they got off of him for the most part after he was cuffed. IDK what people expect when LE is dispatched to a domestic disturbance and show up to find a combative male walking after a distressed female. I'm not LE but it looks to me like protocol is to secure the scene and then find out what the hell is going on. You can't figure out what is going on until people are speaking in their right minds and not still causing disturbance. Had the guy just let them do their job and not gotten combative he would likely be alive today. The whole thing is tragic for sure but change any one element to this story and the ending changes entirely.

Had the woman not slapped her daughter or chose the home for this showdown with her daughter the outcome would have been different. Had the guy not been overweight the outcome would have been different. Had the guy just calmed down a bit and let the officers find out what has happened the outcome would have been different. Had the mother or father had kept a cooler head the outcome would have been different. Just a series of unfortunate events that resulted in this man's death.

it is only there job..... because you have surrendered you own personal authority and asked government to act on your behalf and let your rights atrophy. Peter Alan kasler wrote extensively on this(happened to be my neighbor in red bluff and also a lawman himself) and Glock hand guns. there should be no difference between them and myself if I suffocated someone who was not guilty of any crime. Now if you have ten witnesses that all claim he killed some one or was in commission of a felony and you have reason to believe they will kill or maim some one you may kill them during the course of pursuit or arrest.

There should not be two standards of force in this society one for citizens one fore peace officers. I have not delegated authority to any governance so it can place itself in a different class and have different rules than those that I abide by. The citizen is the apex of society those who wish to serve do so at our will not theirs and serve the will of citizens not theirs.

The man wasn't combative until the police tried to take him down. His wife said on the video that she in-fact hit the daughter.

Well after reading all the posts on here, I'm convinced those damned LEO's are 100% guilty. No need for an investigation, charges, or trial. Just give them max sentence for manslaughter. Or, maybe they planned to kill him. What the heck, just send them up for murder one and put this one in the case closed file.

Not to stir the pot here as I'd still like more info, but if the wife hit a 19 yo would that not be assault, or at least perceived that way hence why they interviened in the first place?

Only thing the video does for me is fog it up even more. You only see what happens after the fact of confrontation, and it does paint a very single sided picture against the LEO's involved. Maybe the Moore Warren security footage will be released eventually, seems that may be the only non-biased information that will exist in a case like this. I doubt that the public will stand a chance of seeing that until after internal investigations and/or trials have happened, as it would prevent a fair jury trial.

So, 5 well armed/trained men are clearly out of breath and are sitting on top of 1 unconscious/unresponsive suspect and this doesn't strike you as unusual? To me, something is amiss but not ready to crucify/clear officers yet.
