As I don't have the permission to hunt there anymore.
Just so you know the difference in summer vs winter habitat, in January/Febuary, I'll catch crappie 30' deep in the lakes. There is no thermocline in lakes during the winter so the oxygen content is the same top to bottom. The water is warmer at 30' than the surface temperature so the crappie hang around there all winter long.
That same cove holds some spawning blue gill like @Garett has been catching.
They eat good too.
