Kids get enough of the brainwashing rigid rules in their schooling to never question their leaders, i would much rather have you children to have the freedom to make their own decisions, question what they are told, and see from both viewpoints. In this particular case, they probably just think their neighbor is a control freak, so worried about how his lawn looks claiming a little child's electric toy is damaging his yard when it clearly is not, so now they will probably think of little ways to try to piss you off more.

If he has "slowly learned it over the years", then you obviously started teaching the concept several years ago. That was the premise of my question. My next question would be, "If the parents refuse to teach it, then who?" I don't expect exceptionally young children to fully grasp the concept, but they should have some idea that destroying, ruining, or taking the property of others is wrong. My problem with this thread is that we have jumped on the OP for being "a bad neighbor" while completely alleviating the parent and the children of any responsibility for their actions or lack thereof.

Well the OP had an opportunity to teach the kids some respect, instead, he choose to go full retard and charge the little buggers with trespassing.

You can't expect to be respected when you're an ass.

While I agree that a trespassing charge for small children is overboard, is it really his responsibility to teach respect to the neighbor children? What about the parent? Any accountability there? The way I understand his post, he did go to the parent and voice his concerns to her and ask that she speak with her kids about it with no results. Only then did he threaten the trespassing charge.

Yes, as a grown man the responsibility falls on him to teach youth to be respectable. Seriously though, if you came to my door and complained about my 3 y/o driving her Barbie car across the corner of your yard I would laugh in your face. When I was finished giggling I would let my daughter know to stay off of your lawn. At this point you've gained nothing, and any respect I might show you.

Some people must lead incredibly blessed lives for them not to have anything more to ***** about than a kid not much older than a toddler trespassing and leaving "tracks" in dead grass.

Are you flipping serious? You people have lost your damn minds. I've got zero use for jerks like that, and most of society doesn't either. Miserable people like to try to make others miserable, for misery loves company. Good grief.
