Mine SUCK. This is the worst year I've ever had with leaf curl. Not sure if its Mosaic virus or water issues. Soil is well drained but I have planted tomatoes in the same area for several years
My lone watermelon plant is also starting to turn yellow and die off from the oldest areas outward. I've heard poor drainage can be the cause of that. I don't have the loosest soil in my garden bed, so that could be the problem. I really just planted it hoping I could get a watermelon or two for my daughter to enjoy, since it was a part of the bed that I wasn't actively using.
I planted my tomatoes in 12 gallon buckets with the bottom cut out, so they are kind of a mix of container and raised bed. I'm sure the soil temp in the buckets is pretty warm.
First batch of onion broth. Will have 18 pints when finished. Would make a good marinade , add to stews, French dip.

What are you doing with so many tomatoes? Canning them whole?
Mostly selling at farmers market this year. We can a lot.

We use a lot of resources and not all related to gardening. Wife is a retired RN. I'm a jack of all trades.
Homemade tomato paste. This isn't all we made. Long process but easier than cooking down. Freeze dry tomatoes, powder them and add water to the consistency . Heat up, put in jars then can.
First watermelon. It's a white meated. Pulled a little early due to fire ants making a hole as you can see the brown spot in the rind.
