They have a vaccine against it that is to be taken in addition to the normal flu shot. It is a guessing game on which strain will be active. People point to studies and say that people who challenge getting vaccines are Internet crack jobs with no real data backing them up. I often find that the opposite is true with opponents being better versed in the subject. With the flu shot, it says on the insert they have done very little testing on the young and elderly and none of the studies have been on the effects it might have on the long term. All the negative side effects they know of are listed on the insert, including death.
Lets say they all work as advertised, go look at where and how they are produced. One of the production labs in Lousiana was found to have live virus and other nasty stuff in their product. They never had a follow up inspection, instead relying on the companies word the issue was corrected. A lot of or vaccines come from China, where the labs get inspected once every 10 years.
You also have to remember that academic medical institutions are funded by big pharma which can bias studies and what is taught in medical school. They have an incentive to produce doctors who are more likely perscribe and keep patients on perscription drugs. If they have one miracle pill that cures a disease and another that you take continually to maintain a disease, which is the company going to push and produce? It's all about bottom dollar.
