So were they trying to run him over going backwards, or was he actually shooting at them while they were driving away.
Granted I dont have much compassion for thieves, but for a security guard to chase suspects to the point it causes a deadly threat? I know I dont know all the details but it sounds a little excessive for petty theft.

All the above speculation is based on a quote from some one who may not have even seen the event. Re-read who the "witness" was that claims he fired "through the back window"...
It may play out that the car was headed directly for the officer.
You know, there was an incident during the Christmas holiday season several years ago at Windsor Hills Shopping Center where a shoplifter tried to run over the security guard who followed her out into the parking lot. I can't remember all the particulars, but it seems to me one of them died as a result of the confrontation.

Am I the only one who thinks he shouldn't of fired? I just don't see and justification in shooting in a mall parking lot at shoplifters....it's not like they killed someone and then ran off, then I would understand.
