Someone want to write a letter that we can send to the 24 legislations that did not vote for it. My legislator David Dank would not even respond to me and then voted no. I am not very happy with him right now:mad:

Mine voted against it. I will take extra care to make sure I vote the next time, and vote her down!
Thanks for the letter draft to the Gov. I am emailing him today.

Great news! ! !

There's actually several votes. This is normal. House comes up with a new law. They send it to the senate. Senates votes/makes changes send it back. House votes the changes to it again. Then final vote follows. Sometimes a bill can be kicked around for a long time.

Basically it just changed the Concealed Carry law to be Concealed and Open both. To carry open you have to have a CCL.

Gotcha! Thank you sir!

As much as a constitutionalist as I am, I am rather comforted by the licensing requirement. I am very much in favor of this bill, but if we remove the licensing, we'll also remove the education that goes with that licensing. Which would probably lead to duels in the street.

The educational portion of that SDA class truly opened my eyes as to the where's and when's you can whip out your piece. And the consequences of doing so. I had no idea on some of the more obscure potential hazards of carrying daily.

Like Arizona right? gun duels there at high noon everyday.

Dosent matter what the consequences are, if my life is in danger, or my family, im "whippin it out"

Oh trust me, I have no compunctions about whipping it out to protect me and mine.

But what about that old guy getting held at gun point by three thugs in the alley over there? Someone who carries without proper training and education might decide to rope and ride to the guy's assistance and start plugging those thugs.

Only to find out the thugs were actually undercover FBI agents and the old guy was a pedophile wanted in three states....

There should be some mandatory provision for training before allowing open carry.

Does anybody have a link to a guideline of what the requirements are going to be for this? Do they have a rough draft written? So far all I've got is that you have to have a CCL. Is there going to be any more to it?

All it did was add "or unconcealed" after every occurrence of "concealed" and require that it be in a holster, scabbard, or case meant to carry a gun.

I tend to agree with this.

The Arizona no permit law doesn't go into effect until 7/29/2010.
So, still to date, only those educated on the SDA law are carrying whether it's concealed or in the open.
