Did your state senator vote yea or nay? My state senator, Bill Brown (R), voted in the affirmative. I was really surprised to see that Adelson voted FOR the measure.

So is the Gov going to sign it? He is NOT a Conservative, and is in his last term and might be concerned about his "legacy". I'm betting he swings the veto hammer.

He's been decent on the 2nd Amendment, and he has to balance between gathering votes later from Oklahomans and getting into Obama's inner circle.

I'll bet that he let's it sit there.

I tend to agree with this.

The Arizona no permit law doesn't go into effect until 7/29/2010.
So, still to date, only those educated on the SDA law are carrying whether it's concealed or in the open.

Incorrect, current law in AZ is open carry- no permit required concealed carry requires permit.

As much as a constitutionalist as I am, I am rather comforted by the licensing requirement. I am very much in favor of this bill, but if we remove the licensing, we'll also remove the education that goes with that licensing. Which would probably lead to duels in the street.

The educational portion of that SDA class truly opened my eyes as to the where's and when's you can whip out your piece. And the consequences of doing so. I had no idea on some of the more obscure potential hazards of carrying daily.

There could still be a required one time educatioal class and I would favor that. The class really opened my eyes on the subject.
