How To Ruin A Nice Revolver

Ya know, that’s actually not a bad idea. Form it to the shape you want and paint it. Probably damn near as strong as the alloy.

Odd are good it will be stronger than the alloy, actually. But it's gonna be tough to get a color match! Cutting off the rest of the trigger, slotting the humps left over, and making a full guard would probably be easier, and you could hold it together with a couple of miniature screws. Truth be told, it's not like I really need another project right now.

I'm pretty sure my dad would have used jb weld. It's like that Frank's hot sauce commercial. Puts that **** on everything.

I have a Fitz special made by a very talented smith decades ago and it is always fun to shoot / draws attention at the range. Having said that no way would I ever do that to a revolver myself or carry one which has been given the treatment.

Really makes me wonder what on earth the former owner was thinking .

He was thinking of himself as a gunfighter, wanted to give himself however much edge he could get...

I won't swear it wouldn't work, but a dirty shame!

I’d leave it alone. It’s a good story, but otherwise not really getting worked up about. Historically, Colt sold guns from the factory that were customized in the same way. I can’t imagine carrying it in anyway that would make it particularly more dangerous than if it had the full guard.

I think I'll just form it along the entire remaining length of the trigger guard after scuffing the ends a little bit for something to bite. Might make the trigger guard a little thicker than normal but that's OK. I'm not much of an artist so there's a chance it could be so ugly I take it off anyway.

I just had a great idea. Form the trigger guard using a Glock design. Then, post it up here and see if anyone has an opinion on it, lol.
