First, I've been guilty of saying "WTF" in the classifieds my self, but it is getting old.

Second, During the last ban mags were about 3-5 times or more expensive than they were about a month ago.
Beta drum mags $700 each
10/22 plastic feed lip mags over 10 rds. $30-$60 each
Ruger factory Mini14 20-30rd mags $65-$100 each
Pistol higher capacity mags $40 and up.
And remember these were typically USED mags.

If you don't like the prices listed now, Don't buy, Don't make an offer,
just let it go and wait 6 months.
Prices will either go up or they'll come down.
OR THEY WON'T BE AVAILABLE AT ALL, so the gamble is yours. ***** about it or buy.
Groaning and moaning won't help at all. Like i said, I've done it.

I agree with you. I've had great dealings and have come to know several members on here personally. I think of OSA members as honest people who are willing to help each other in times of need. We have alot of fun joking around with each other and the site seems more like a "family" than an Armslist, Gun Broker, Ebay etc. I look at some of the classified ads and wonder why we "crap in our own back yard". I, like most members, just make a mental note and go on. It is more of a sad feeling as opposed to anger.

As someone posted a couple days ago in another thread, we have to look at the prices the same way as we do gold or silver. If you bought at a low price several months or years ago and the value doubles or more, are you going to sell at your original purchase price or ask the going rate?
Just another way of looking at the current asking prices.

I am curious. This would be the '94 ban? "Hi cap" mags and other banned items were able to be bought and sold?

I remember the 94 ban very well. Cheap 10/22 hi-caps went from being $5.97 at Wally World to $65+, if you could find them. This is why I do not sell my 10/22 mags and I have alot of them.

You could buy and sell pre ban mags all you wanted. All new production for civilians was limited to ten rounds. Everything that was already out there was fair game.

Sorry its not the same thing too me, gold is natural inflation, gun inflation is based off the threat of a ban. Second this is a local forum and like people mentioned people are trying to take advantage of others on this forum. I say at least have 250 posts before you post an ad or can create a thread.

I really hope this all blows over and prices adjust back to near normal, but I think something big is going to happen...

The trouble with that analogy was the buying of gold "ten years ago", or whatever it was, and the price today. People in the classifieds are asking three times what mags and double or more what rifles were selling for one day before the whole Newtown fiasco, not what they paid for them in 2003. Of course you wouldn't sell for less than market value, but it's just that the market has now been determined by a ban that hasn't happened - just speculation and fear (and greed). I just roll my eyes over most of what I see here and armslist; I'm just hoping people settle down, buyers come to their senses, and (in turn) sellers will quit going full-retard on prices. But as long as stupid people are willing to pay stupid prices from greedy sellers, the stupidity will continue.
