In all seriousness, I think it is awesome when the tools of government oppression are liberated from the State and pressed into service in the cause of liberty.

On another note, them Jewish Mausers just ain't right.

We killed a couple 100,000 with atomic bombs but I don't see you protesting that. It goes back to a weapon is just a tool. I don't advocate Nazis. But I'd like to have a k31 and a Luger and a broomstick Mauser.

Well, not ALL k98s were made by Germans, especially 1943-45.

The quality of the 35-42 years was significantly better.

If one should seek a collectible milsurp rifle without the controversy:Mosin- Nagant! Craftsmanship, engineering, and a history void of any of the atrocities of the Reich.

When it comes right down to it, no nation that has gone to war has come out at the end without having atrocities perpetrated by its soldiers. Some on a much larger, more organized scale than others, but the person on the sharp end of the atrocity isn't going to be thinking about that. So to single out one nation and call them bloodthirsty murderers is a bit hypocritical.

Appreciate the engineering and workmanship that went into the firearm, but avoid glorifying it.

Nobody denies atrocities of war committed by individual soldiers or units; we can criticize decisions that are covered under "lesser of the evils"; that however does not take away atrocities sanctioned by ideologies (not nations - that would be hypocritical) - Nazi industrialized civilian population extermination is par none.

just the atrocities of the Soviet Union.
You just have to look at the morality of the intent:
K98 was the spear-head of ethnic cleansing of Europe issued to Nazi forces to do the cleansing.
MN was issued to Russians defending USSR from invading Nazis.

Hypocrisy of the communists can not be overstated - they were murdering and enslaving bastards; the big difference that they were doing it under the flag of "what's best for the masses". Nazis did it under the flag of "what's best for us" - and it's hard to call 'em hypocritical. It is very easy to call Nazis and their ideology pure evil!
