My point is that Milton was wrong. The so called "free market" never existed, only the opportunity for corporations to gain from this country without ever giving back, the ability to make a pair of snickers using 3rd world labor and selling at US prices.
This so called free trade has awakened the Chinese sleeping dragon and has filled him with a terrible resolve. It is destroying our economy and has become a direct threat to our national security.
It has to go or we will perish.

Absolutely. China now owns more US Congressmen and Senators (as well as a Secretary of State) than any other financial entity in history.
Many laws that are being passed are being done at their demand.
They are buying this country piece by piece, legislator after legislator.

And we are still proud of our "free" trade:hithead:
I got kicks when Hillary, heavily financed by the Chinese, went to China to straighten out the mess and get them to stop devaluing the remimbi.
Some, were surprised that she came back empty handed. No kidding, she was supposed to go and push her bosses and it didn't work.

Hope it works, I don't like the LED white light and I don't want Hg in my house.
I'm curious to see how they pack the electronics and magnets in such a small and profitable package.

Not all LED is "white light". Pay attention and get the right temperature of light and it will match the output of your familiar "warm white".

Wrong about what?

Oh this ought to be good.

Milton Friedman is one of the best known and most quoted proponent of the "free market".
You can argue that a free market doesn't exist in the US. An example would be all the gov't requirements and laws manufacturing must meet in the US but aren't required in China.

That really doesn't have anything to do with Friedman being right or wrong, though, does it?

No, it says Friedman is wrong.
Free market doctrine is an illusion in most segments of America's economy.
Monopolies may not exist but oligopolies do.

No, that doesn't address anything Friedman said.

I'll illustrate:
"Jim is a proponent of orange fences"
"The city paid a company to paint all of their fences blue, this means Jim is wrong."

What books by Friedman have you read? He talked about the shortcomings in the US all the time. He talked about how businesses fight to destroy free markets. He talked about how the government policies affect free markets. He talked about ADM's monopoly and the complicit behavior of the government. The list goes on.

What exactly was he wrong about?
