I say, I'm amazed that this thread ever started, much less has responses. Hey, I'm amazed I even read it. I'm just amazed.:)

Would a laptop bag would be considered a man purse?

No. It's closer to being called a biefcase. As in, a case for carrying legal briefs. It's what grown ups carry :D

I have a relatively old Eddie Bauer laptop brief that I use every day. It holds my computer and any papers, as well as other effects (light, lip balm, hand sanitizer, camera, hankerchief, knife, etc..). Looks less conspicuous and works well for the "biz caz" dress for meetings and travel.

If I had a backpack for daily carry, it'd look far too juvenile for anyone to take seriously. YMMV of course. Backpacks are far more comfortable and efficient for any type of technical use (hiking, camping, etc). I own one, but it only comes out for such activities,

I have carried a duffel bag onto a plane that had rwo carry handles and a shoulder strap. It is too big to be a man purse. I have a tool bag the same strap setup. I have carried it with the single shoulder strap. Too rugged to be a man purse. Does having other carry handles make it not ghey?
