Glock with it's wonderful brick in my hand feel.
Hated Glocks for a long time, I was a 1911 and Hi Power guy dyed in the wool, but I got a job and had to carry for 12 hour shifts, that 1911 brick got pretty heavy by the end of the day so I switched to my little S&W 36 Chiefs special, but my capacity and accuracy suffered. When Glocks became popular I said I'd never use some plastic toy gun but when I saw how much lighter they were, accurate, high capacity and most importantly dependable I got hooked. the 1911 and hi powers will always have my heart but for CC its strictly Glock.

This is a question I will definitely bite on. A lot of the more collectible handguns out there were revolutionary in their day but obsolete now. I can think of a lot of wierd guns that suck to shoot, but it makes sense they are collectible like automags, or old derringers so I don’t count those as overrated. So with that in mind, and with the benefit of hindsight I do not understand why the Detonics guns are so sought after. They feel and look cheap and compared to the other gimmicked 1911s from their day they are 4x the price. In their day you couldn’t get a lot of 3inch 1911s but now they are a dime a dozen so it makes no sense to me that the Detonics Combat Master would be worth $2000 in todays market even as a collector’s piece.

I think they're valued mostly because they were the smallest 1911 ever made when they first came out, I recall even back then they were very expensive. Now I think it's just a question of scarcity that demands the high prices. I'd sure as hell never pay what they bring.

Indeed. It’s what they call a cult following I guess. I have one of those ODI Vikings and I guarantee they made fewer of those than the Detonics but it’s practically worthless.
