"Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group. (The opening ceremony) tried to celebrate community tolerance; We believe this ambition was achieved. If people have taken any offense, we are really sorry." Paris 2024 spokesperson Anne Descamps.

“Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect for our Jewish communities when we loaded hundreds of families on trains for temporary housing in well protected cities. Our intent was to keep them out of harms way in the possibility of bombing their neighborhoods. We believe this ambition was achieved.
