I have to agree with the sentiment. Once it's obvious that the taxes from the rich won't change a thing, then maybe Americans who truly care will once again defend the Constitution by limiting the federal government's power grab. Let's keep our politics local and the power close to the rightful owners, We the People.

Of course it wont change anything, taxes as a revenue stream is secondary to them being a mode of control.
Honestly, screw the GOP. They make lousy Democrats.
What's funny is how democrats keeps providing the republicans help as to how to gain the support of different groups. Want the latino vote, implement immigration reform. Want the female vote, change your stance on contraception and abortion. Want the black vote, be more inclusive. The fact remains that unless the republicans do exactly the same thing as the democrats are doing, which is give out free stuff paid for by those who work, they won't win over those groups. The republicans are puppets in the hands of the democrats. Until such a time as the republicans grow a set of balls and simply defend the Constitution, they'll continue to lose as the democrat machine keeps handing out freebies to an ever growing dependent constituency. Funny, or at least until everything implodes when the laws of economics kick in and the US becomes Greece.

An open letter to the GOP leadership.
Since the elections are over and the Democrats are still in power we know they will be pushing for an increase in the debt ceiling and tax increases. It is time for the GOP to take the high ground and show the Democrats for what they are, the same old tax and spend liberals they have always been.
The GOP leadership in Congress should start hitting the air waves loud and often with a simple message that with give them the moral and political advantage.
No debt ceiling increase without a real budget passed by both houses and no tax increase, cuts to military spending or a cut to anyone's benefits without certain conditions.
1) First all the wasteful spending in the latest CBO report must be eliminated and all pork spending must be eliminated. This will decrease the amount taken from the people of this countries pocket.
2) Tax increases can only go into effect the same day as all other spending cuts not mentioned above. No tax now, never get to the spending cuts like all the times before.
3) Spending cuts must come from non-essential programs first. The EPA would be a good place to start.
