That kind of thing, common sense tort reform, and making the insurance companies compete more by doing away with some of the state by state restrictions would do far more to lower healthcare cost then any government mandated care program ever will.

That's another thing that irks me. They talk about the popularity of allowing young adults to remain on their parent's insurance, but if it's so popular why wasn't it offered by insurance companies? If it's so popular, surely there would be a demographic out there willing to pay more for that kind of plan. But I think the paying more part is what gets them. They would rather EVERYONE pay more for some to get that extra benefit instead of just those choosing that benefit to pay a little more for it. How long your kids stay on your insurance plan shouldn't be something legislated by congress, it should be something worked out between the insurance company and their customers in their plan.
