Ok guys ... I have spent this entire last year looking forward to me and Scott going out with @Oklahomabassin this fall but I'll be damned it just isn't gonna happen. I'm really bummed, too, because I have a chest freezer that is about to be completely empty. šŸ˜šŸ˜ Oh well ... It needed cleaning out anyway ...

I'd be willing to provide funds for processing (and physical help, too, though I'm not sure what kind of shape Scott is gonna be in) and help deliver to others if I can snag a little ground venison. Not even looking for a lot -- maybe just a package or two.

If youā€™re just wanting a few lbs of ground Iā€™ll give you some. I have a little bit left from last year still.

If I get another deer this year Iā€™d break ya off some of it tooā€¦ spread the generosity around

Or if bassin gets one on the ground for ya Iā€™d be more than happy to pick it up and get it skinned/quartered for ya and yā€™all could come help process/package at my place if you want. However it works out I suppose. No payment necessary, especially if I get some meat out of it too.

Iā€™ve also met @Tinytim and he isnā€™t far from me I could get him hooked up as well. @CHenry isnā€™t far either.

I like the late season when itā€™s nice and cold out. Again, Iā€™m just throwing ideas out there. But I am willing to help for sure.

That is so sweet of you!! I'm not too far away from @CHenry either. Lol Unless he's moved ... šŸ¤” and, of course, I would share!

I don't mind showing up and doing whatever grunt work needs to be done. I'll even wash dishes if I have to! šŸ˜‰šŸ¤£ I'm a little like you -- prefer later in the season, also, but I wouldn't be adverse to helping anyone process any deer someone donated. My way of paying it forward. šŸ˜˜

Different animal same question. There have been a few times during deer seasonā€™s that Iā€™ve had the opportunity to shoot a hog or two. Would anyone be interested in having one? Occasionally I will catch one in one of my traps. If itā€™s in the trap there is no hurry but if it was ā€œgunnedā€ down it would need to be handled in a timely manner. Iā€™m 27 miles SE of Ada so I know it wouldnā€™t be convenient for some people.

I havenā€™t been planning to come up to hunt this week but probably am now. IF and I mean big ā€œifā€ I kill something, Iā€™m going to need somewhere for the meat to go. Iā€™ve got beef in two freezers, blackberries and vegetables in one, and I just topped off the 4th with 40# of chicken leg quarters.
Iā€™ve tried donating on here before and got ghosted when it came time to pick up the meat, so Iā€™m going to be clear as to what Iā€™m willing to offer this time.
Venison from me will be deboned and iced down probably within an hour after he hits the ground. Youā€™ll need to bring your own big cooler to transfer it into. As a heads up, Iā€™m strictly hunting a mature buck that should weigh in about 250-275 live weight, so thereā€™s going to be quite a bit of meat even deboned. Plan your cooler space accordingly. If you want to split it, thatā€™s for you to arrange. I get barn sour when I head home and wonā€™t stop any more than I have to.

Since most everything in Oklahoma is south of my place, Iā€™m willing to keep the meat iced down until I head home, but Iā€™ll only meet somewhere along I-35, I-40 between the City and Henrietta, or along Indian Nation turnpike.

So Iā€™ve been given a few deer over the last couple years on here. Itā€™s been awesome and Iā€™m very greatful! I do the processing myself and try to make it as easy as possible for the person giving away the deer.

If there are any of you guys on here who want some venison but are not able to do the skinning/processing stuff Iā€™d be willing to help out. Perhaps a situation where I could act as a middle man and split the meat with another member in need of venison? Just an idea for consideration.. hell Iā€™d even give away 75% of the backstrap too haha
This could work out.
My wife a kiddo are more interested in the roasts than anything else on the deer. I'd le ya keep the back straps if I could get the roasts.

That sucks that you got ghosted on the deer donation thing! I appreciate your willingness to still try again.

Deboned makes it super easy. Even quartered makes it super easy.

Right. Absolutely. I love breaking down hind qtrs into all those delicious roasts!

I usually do: back straps for steaks, hind qtrs for roasts and a few steaks, shanks for the crockpot, one front shoulders as boneless crockpot roast, other shoulder and all trimmings as groundā€¦ Iā€™m picky with my grind meat and trim away as much fat and membrane as I can. Obviously shot placement has a lot to do with getting all the cuts lol
