Everybody should watch "Missions that changed the war: The Doolittle Raid" on the Military channel. I know they're at least showing part 3 tonight, but probably also showing parts 1 & 2. Those were some courageous SOB's.

If the guy beside me refers to it as D-Day one more time I'm going to snap his neck. Someone needs a history lesson.

Got to love our :censored: public school system!

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walked'st on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

May you rest in peace Shipmates, your brethren have the watch.

Seeing bunker oil leach out of the Arizona 65 years after it sank is one of the most humbling experiences of my life.

I envy you; visiting the Arizona Memorial is definately something I want to do in my lifetime. Sobering but fascinating too, I'm sure.

God bless all the men and women that were there that day! I am definently planning on visiting the memorial some day and paying them proper respect. Rest in peace!:patriot:

Thanks to all who who rose to the challenge that day and every day since.
And rest in peace those who lost their lives that day 69 years ago.
