It amazes me that some people just have no respect for this day, I requested this day off work over 2 months ago, I got today off and was in town and drove past my job and saw that our American flag was all the way up. It kinda upset me so I went inside and talked to my boss, telling him that it needs to be flown at half-staff today, he said that it is fine and he does not care if it is lowered or not. Luckily while I was ranting to him a Vietnam veteran came in and raised a stink about it, and it shortly got lowered

Seeing bunker oil leach out of the Arizona 65 years after it sank is one of the most humbling experiences of my life.

I agree, standing in the memorial was a very somber experience for me, the magnitude of what happened there is hard to comprehend, you don't really get it until you are standing atop of the submerged ship.
