My turn to rant...

I SHOULD NOT FIND OUT ABOUT A FAMILY MEMBER IN THE HOSPITAL THROUGH FACEBOOK. If one of my family members is being admitted to the hospital... Pick up the phone and call. I don't care if im at work or asleep or whatever, that is one of the few times I EXPECT a phone call regardless of the time of day or what is going on. Dont Skype it, tweet it, text it or facebook it...pick up the effing phone and call me.

Rant over...

Please continue discussing Pmag futures and EBR prices.

Wow. I'm really sorry to hear that. Were there any other family members who knew?

I was about to go to sleep and was checking Facebook in bed when I read an Aunts post about her elderly Mother (my grandmother) being admitted to the hospital for pneumonia... My Mother was the one who took her to the hospital and for some reason didn't feel it was important to call me

Now, the story gets "better" from here...So its now after visiting hours. Im stressed/worried and can't sleep and have to work tomorrow...and I figure I should probably call my younger Brother to let him know... Of course, she hasnt told him either. Turns out hes had a bad day too. He had some minor traffic issue with another car today (no citations to either driver, very minor damage) and was stressed out and needed some advice on what to do with insurance. So I had to deal with that too... Now its after midnight and I'm wide awake.

Hang in there, I am sure it is easier knowing that she is being watched and tended to, your family is in our prayers.

Yup, they knew, just didn't call me until I called to find out details. Doesn't do me any good to sweat it, I just mentioned it so you would know you weren't alone in dealing with jerky family members. Hang in there!

My sister-in-law's ********* husband is one of those douchebags who would douchebaggily use Facebook to make major announcements rather than using his douche mouth to do so in person.

For example, my sister-in-law had a baby last month. My wife, her mom, and 2 of my SIL's best friends were at the hospital for over 24 hours while she was in labor. No clean clothes, no showers, nothing more to eat or drink than a few items out of a vending machine. During the actual birth, we were informed out in the waiting room that there was a problem. We were only informed this by a nurse when over an hour had passed after they expected the baby to be born. However, we weren't aware of what the complication was, only that there was a complication. The only way to communicate to anyone in the room was to text her husband. My wife and her mom kept texting him to ask what's going on and to please keep us updated. Nothing over the top, as they understood if something is going on that he's probably not checking his phone.

My wife and her mom are a wreck, worrying and staring at the clock, waiting for the second hand to move another click, staring at the door waiting for the doctor to come out and announce the baby is here and everything is fine. Over 2 hours pass without a word and two random people walk into the waiting room saying, "AWW! He's so cute!". It was two of *********'s co-workers who nobody else knew, but were looking at pictures he posted to Facebook at least 15 minutes prior. Obviously, these were posted from his phone, the same phone that had several text messages informing him that the people who missed work to be by their side and are outside waiting, are very concerned about the baby and the mother.

People were by her side for over 24 hours, people were crying, worried, and petrified for their well-being, and he didn't have the decency to let them know that the baby is here and everyone is fine. Instead, my wife and her mom had to find this out from two strangers who just happened to stumble into the waiting room at the right time. The reason nobody else was notified of this on Facebook is because the dude is a douche who deleted everyone, including his family, after it was found out he was cheating on said wife while he was working out of town. Apparently, he didn't like people talking shizz to and about him for his actions, so he got back at them by deleting them on Facebook. :rolleyes2

Sorry to piggyback on your rant with one of my own, but it's a similar situation. If it weren't for me calming people down, there would have been 3 pissed off individuals trying to kill Mr. Douche.

Your family has my best wishes, Seeds!
