Planting grass seed in the fall. What kind is best?

Need to put some grass seed down on my new range backstop. What kind is best to pop up fast around here this time of year? Need it
to come up fast so my backstop does not just wash away in the rain.

Also called annual rye seed. It’s great for overseeding in the fall, but dies when it heats up next summer.

I prefer a mix. Scotts makes a nice mix that will get started with quick grass, but in the background you'll have deep root stuff taking hold as well so come spring time you've got a decent coverage.

rye won't prevent erosion all that well. i would get some straw and cover it all over , the berm anyway. rye or wheat or juat about any cool season annual should work on the flat. weeping lovegrass on the berm this spring???

Yeah, I wanted Bermuda grass, as that is what my most of my property is. But I see it is not a good winter starter.
