Post-apocalypse pet plans

Anyone take into consideration their pets? What are you planning to do with them? Do you store extra food/water for them? Any medications?

Ours pretty well eats what we do, so she's good to go. She's just a little min pin, we keep dog food out for her. But what she eats the most is off momma's plate when she's done.

I take my dog backpacking pretty often, so he's got his own backpack and gear. I've got a few cases of high calorie dog food (like 90 cans). No water, but I've got a katadyne water filter pump. Except for a few, most human medication will work for dogs, the trick is knowing the dosage.

My priorities dont involve animals. My wife might hold a different opinion.

They (cats) will taste pretty good with the stored soy sayce, and rice.

Damn neigborhood is full of them. 2 of them are mine. I would eat them first (easiest to catch)

When I was stationed in Pensacola there was a panhandler that would sit in the middle of a median of an intersection with his dog. People would give him dog food for the dog. We always figured since the dog still had all of its legs that the guy must not be that hungry.
