He is not protective by any means of the word. He welcomes anyone who comes in the house with a wet tongue and wagging tail.
He is smart, in his own way. Usually it is only when he wants out of the yard or wants to do something troublesome. He is sometimes a PITA, but I wouldn't give him up for much in the world because he has such a kind and sweet nature.
My main pet peeves are that he is terrified of thunder and that he will not walk on linoleum without persuasion.
