The thing is, you now live in OK and that is now your state of residence. You can lie on the form and say you live in Georgia, but that statement on the form that says "up to 10 years in jail and/or $250,000 fine" usually gets most people to tell the truth. Why not just get a OK license?

I'm originally from Georgia, and never had a problem buying long guns when I would go home to visit the folks. I don't see why you couldn't purchase from here since technically your still a resident from Georgia.

This is NOT legal advice.

My understanding is that in Oklahoma, you can buy a long gun in any contiguous state. That would be Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas. In other words, I have bought rifles at the Ozark Armory in Springdale, Arkansas and left with them. I bought a handgun there, paid for it and they shipped it to OPS where I completed a 4473 on it and picked it up.

I think you need to get an Oklahoma drivers license because you are now a resident of Oklahoma, so you must answer the 4473 truthfully.

You can call the ATF. They are pretty helpful. I found a Nazi marked Walther in Germany that I wanted to buy and they answered all my questions..

I must ask...What was the process (key steps if its long and drawn out) of purchasing and bringing something like that in country? Not that i plan on doing something like this but I do find it interesting.

The pistol I wanted was a PPK with SA (Sturmabteilung...brown shirted storm troopers) Gruppe markings. Those are highly sought after here in the US and extremely rare. I couldn't get it, because Walther PPK pistols were banned from importation into the US by the 1968 GCA.

Thanks guys. I will get an OK license, but can't until I get bills from a public utility. That wont happen for a few months because I am in corporate housing. OK motor vehicle division is the problem, not me. I want a license here. Heck I have a CCW from Georgia but the dealer still would not sell. Oh well. His loss. I'm on vac now in TN and will be checking around for a standard m4 when I get back. I already have an FD308 coming soon I just want one more M4 before its banned. ( sorry, I have no faith in republicans)

Thanks ifor the help and the recommendation on the dealer listed about.

Let us know if we can help. Also some of the OKC guys and gals can clue you in on what shops and ranges to visit and, just as importantly, which to avoid.
