There is a woman i work with who moved her office chair over and uses one of the Swiss balls as her office chair. At first I thought it was really odd, but when I have to work at her computer(IT guy) I really like it. It forces you to sit with good posture, and it is much more pleasant than I expected. I just don't know if I could get away with my own, and keep my man card... Hers is from golds gym and it has some sort of sand like substance in the bottom to keep it fairly stable. I've thought about getting one at home.

You should check out 'Relax the Back' at 61st and Memorial. They have some super comfortable office chairs and they also sell just the cushions if you don't want a whole chair. My mom is a medical transcriptionist and just bought a cushion to try out because she was getting too uncormfortable in her office chair. She said the difference is night and day. Also, Relax the Back will let you 'test' out their equipment before you buy it. So they'll give you a chair or cushion and let you take it home for a few days. If you like it and decide to purchase, they'll give you a new one. If you don't just take it back and say it didn't work out.

Just a thought...

this is great! this morning i was thinking man i need a new chair and have no idea where to start and BOOM like a guided light i was here. my quick problem is i ruptured a disc in my back in DEC of 2011 and things just have not been the same. went threw the whole doctor spill when i was able to get up and be somewhat mobile and the x-rays showed a disc totally gone, one ruptered, and one about, ended up with a shot in the back they told me i am a canidate for surgery..told them i would hold off and see how things go. i here all the bad storys and being that i'm to turn 35yrs old i'm not ready to adventure down that road. i sit in this chair here at work for 8hrs 5 days a week (phone tech) is starting to take its toll again.

i totally agree with johN06, my wife uses one of the swiss balls at work sometimes and i sat in it for a few hours one day and man card or not i am seriously been thinking about the getting one. Having a jacked up back and not being able to do something with my kids is where i will retain my man card. never felt so worthless when my back went out and i sure the hell don't want to be "back" in that situation again.

Problem with the swiss ball is it forces you to put all of your weight on your hands when keying, very bad for the carpel tunnel. I would rather have some chair arms to take some of that weight.
