At Red Castle its a little different from other places. Theres 2300 members and the majority have been members 20,30,40+ years. They went thru the milsurp craze of the 80's + 90's owned and shot that stuff and so it doesn't turn many heads.
Go to USSA or Happy Hollow or some other place with a younger crowd and it's like "WOW! Whats that? I never seen anything like that "
Makes sense, and I suspected something like that was coming into play. I know they have milsurp matches at RC, so the folks there might be jaded when it comes to those firearms. I'd join USSA especially since it's 20 minutes closer to my place, but they don't have 500+ yard ranges or allow FA plinking, and their membership fees are higher.
Oh well, I'll just go on shooting my milsurps
I got a lot of comments yesterday at the range banging steel out at 400 with my K31 and iron sights.
Is that the one that I sold you? Or a different one? Love my K31s, and they definitively get a lot of heads to turn. People are always surprised how accurate they are!
When I take the M38 to Happy Hollow, I usually get a couple comments. Especially on the Gray Days.
If I was at a range and saw milsurps I would have to go check it out. And if asked to fire it I would accept. I love to shoot and check out all guns.
Perhaps those around you are just not as corgial as you and afraid to come up and talk to you. They may feel they are interupting you.
It was at Alpha Training Academy. It was a private session.
Yep. That's the one. First time I ever shot it. It was spot on.
