I do appreciate your suggestions my friends,,,
I'm looking closely at a Holosun that has a higher mount,,,
I think I'll need it to clear the really high sight hood on my 512 Carbine.

I haven't made up my mind yet,,,
But your brand name suggestions are helping me.

I'm looking at two different ones right now.

Holosun HS403B Micro Sight

Sig Sauer ROMEO MSR Gen II Sight

I'm leaning towards the Sig Sauer for two reasons,,,
It has the option of a red dot (119,95) or green dot (129.95),,,
So even if I go with the green dot (which I like) it still $40.00 cheaper.

They both look as if they are tall enough to clear the carbines front sight hood.

Decisions, decisions, decisions,,,
I hate making them when I really have no clue.

Keep in mind that those two are meant for use on an AR, so they’re more than likely going to be ALOT higher than is needed to just see over the sight hood.

Try to go for the full Romeo 5, it has shake awake. That means you never have to turn it on or off, it comes on when you pick up the weapon and is ready to go.

That’s a feature Holosun offers too that I can’t get used to. I still turn mine on and off with each use. :anyone:

I sorta like this feature,,,
Even though I'm certain I would turn it off,,,
But I'll tell you a funny story about "shake-awake".

A buddy of mine bought a very high-dollar red dot with shake awake feature,,,
He mounted it on a "get me home AR style rifle" that he let live in his trunk.

Apparently the movement of the car was enough to "shake it awake",,,
It ran the battery down between range trips.

Yep, it will do that in cars.
