I talk with people all the time about the term "assault rifle" because I don't like the way the media uses it. "Assault" is an adjective not a noun, so EVERY rifle is an "assault rifle" once someone makes the decision to "assault" someone with it. In fact if you decide to smack someone in the face with your cell phone.. guess what? You are now the owner of an "assault cellphone".

When I explain it that way you'd be surprised to see how many of them just say "Oh?", because they've never given it any thought before.

And I have talked to many of them lately including gun owners and hunters, many my family, that don't have a clue!

Saying stuff like:
Ban all ak47, who needs an ak, we have guns and hunt but who needs Machine gunse AK's, no one needs buckets of ammo, who needs that many guns, assault weapons ban should be reinstated because no one needs machine guns, etc. etc. etc.

Purely uneducated and taking the bait: hook line and sinker

I have heard this at a gun show. Two guys walking by a table with ARs and AKs. It made my blood boil.
