Stamps?

Why is it that at the post office there are no longer any stamp vending machines. Also when did the downtown post office in okc stop the area where there is po boxes are to be closed now to drop off 24 hour mail?

I buy stamps from a machine at the 89th and S. Penn. PO. The new machines allow you to buy 1 stamp or 1000, easier than standing in line at the window.

There's an extended hours post office on Cargo Road at Will Rogers. Just go south off 54Th almost to even with the terminal. It's on the east side of the street.

Vending machines have been out of my local PO for several years now. They got tired of people carping about having lost money in the machines. Here we can buy stamps at 7-Eleven and several other stores.

Side note- I always wondered why counterfeiting stamps wasn't a wide spread problem for the post office... looks like it would be a heck of a lot easier for bad guys than counterfeiting money? With money you have special paper, ink, micro printing & red / blue threads to deal with... but with stamps it looks like it would be very simple to do.
