I have been on the hunt for a Tag as well, my big issue is that I hate to spend $2600 on the one I want to only wear it maybe once or twice a year. I have a nice Seiko, Movado and just picked up a Citizen eco-drive and love it so far.

Love my Omega. I have wanted this watch since 1995 when I saw it in Goldeneye! Here she is. Was a surprise birthday gift from the wife! :naughty:

I will preface this by saying I am cheap, so take it with a grain of salt.

Nothing wrong with a TAG, but they seem pretty ubiquitous nowadays. I prefer something unique. Find a neat old Accutron or vintage Swiss Army with a NATO-style strap and it is far more interesting, IMHO.

A TAG is still a good watch, just not my style.

Oh, and nothing wrong with a quartz. Sure an Automatic is cooler, a piece of crafted art, but a quartz is dead-on reliable and keeps better time :D

I am also far too hard on watches to own one worth more than $200 or so. I have a $450 Seiko I got as a gift and is only worn on special occasions.

And to think I was as proud as I could be with my new Wegner I just got a few weeks ago. :woohoo1:

Now, with all these high dollar watches on display, I feel kinda sheepish.

I'm with you, GED. I got a Swiss Army field-style at the Duty-free on my honeymoon. Was a bit over $100. I think you can't beat it!

Luminox recently came out with an automatic that looks pretty nice. I just lost a luminox that I had for 8 years and wore almost daily since I bought it. Only thing I ever did was replace a battery. Automatic and tritium, a great combination that could last a lifetime. http://www.lapolicegear.com/luminox-1801-automatic-watch.html Think I'll ask for another one for Christmas.

Never had a Tag, but a lady I work with has worn hers for I think 4 or 5 years and loves hers. It's an auto also.
