I hate when people try to talk to me while talking on the phone to someone else.

Be courteous and hang up the phone. Get the prices and call them back.

Agreed.

No shirt no service
No shoes no service
No service if on cell phone
No English no service

.....My view and reminds me of a little place called Pats in Philadelphia that has that exact sign up and will throw your arse out if you don't follow it.

Southwest Shooters was cool. As a youngster, I bought a few guns from them.

Southwest Shooters RULED!!!!! I really miss that place.

yes and yess! bought my goose loads there, they always had the remmy nitro steel in stock when others didn't. bought my ruger ought6 there and still have it. my only complaint was the old yellowed lighting. used to take a small flashlight in to get info off of the guns. that said, i quit going to OA a long time ago. i had high hopes of change when they cleaned up the store. doesn't look like it helped!

I was hoping that Ruegge could get it back on track. I hope he is not handcuffed by others in the back. Every store in town has had stories like this. Southwest had it's share of service issues as well. Gunworld, H&H, Savage et al, all have been bitched about on this forum. Only when they are gone do we hear; "oh, they had the best prices or the best service in town."

Hoov, In many of our experiences, the service at OA has been horrible and the employees have been rude and lazy. The prices have not been bad, but who wants to put up with a$$holes?

This is 'way old, but am I the only one who couldn't get out of Southwest Shooters without being annoyed by the lady who apparently ran the place? I went in there with a friend once, and he is the soul of "laid back and mellow." After interacting with her, he was madder than I have ever seen him, or thought he could become.

I do not know her name, and if she's your mom or something, sorry, but it is my belief that she had a pretty big hand in the demise of what was otherwise a pretty nice business.

OA is so low on inventory that they have started putting small bronze sculptures in their display cases, and the merchandise they do have is largely slow moving stuff. Check out their shotguns for example. They have a Kimber rifle in .375 H&H too. Another fast mover. Thinking of picking it up as another varmint rifle . . .

But if you need any turkey decoys, go there. They have a large room full that Fred bought real cheap, and they are selling them cheap. That was usually what drove him to make purchases.

That lady at Southwest Shooters had a Porsche 928. I had one back in college. I pulled in one day as she pulled in. I remember her making a snarky comment about me being too young to have such a nice car. Pretty silly.
