I could never bring myself to own one there are too many issues with electric cars aside from the fact there are a lot of reports where they self immolate . A buddy of mine bought one of the Chevy's which had a defective battery and needed a recall. GM told him to park it on the street away from other cars till they could get him in for a replacement of the battery . IIRC it was almost a year before that happened .

I'm almost 70 and don't really have an interest in EV's, so I probably will never have one. They are however coming into society at a pretty good clip. I like Chevys and you like Fords- We all get choices. The main thing I don't like in all this is, the EV people get all kinds of tax breaks to build them- the wind mill people get all kinds of tax breaks and gov assistance. The oil companies get no breaks and are pushed back at every turn. Bottom line- oil is the best answer currently- EV and other alternatives are working all the time now and eventually they will get better. I believe it's going to take all types of energy going forward as the population continues to grow. I just wish there was parity in the tax incentives to create things. For me it's just this simple- I will do the most economic thing to provide dependable transportation.

too bad. There's also a $7,500 incentive to buy. Well, it's fixing to be canned, but it can go towards the down payment. Newsome hates Elon and is trying to keep the EV incentive going minus Tesla, lol.
If I recall correctly the 7500 has been gone for most Teslas for a while. The program that provided that credit was basically limited to "Once you sell X number the credit drops to (value) and then when you hit Y sales then the credit is gone." and since Teslas are the more popular electric the credits have run out. That's one reason that Elon, terrible person that he is, is in favor of canceling EV credits. His vehicles were already subsidized and he doesn't want competition so he's in favor of pulling the ladder up behind him.

I think your correct on that first part.
But Elon is our future entrepreneur in so many ways. When he makes money, and anyone berates that....LMFAO, at that broke idiot.
