Elon is a visionary. It's why he'll lead us to efficiency with his new department. For instance, in that case you mention he very efficiently burned them all to death so they couldn't sue him.

Genius move making it so that a loss of power kills the door handles and then making the emergency override hard to find and not super accessible. Extra genius move spending money to get Trump elected and given an oversight role where he can cut regulations on his own companies so that he can burn more people to death.
Come on man I trust him just like I trust Trump

I know when it's time to invest my millions in a trip to the moon, I want to give those millions to him.

Just like I want all my confidential OSA posts to be going through his "totally not filtered and searched through and scanned" Starlink.

I mean, I know there's choices in vehicles out there, so I want to be in the one the petulant man-child put out that vastly out ranks the competition in fatalities per capita. And I want him in charge of the regulatory bodies that might make him lessen the burning to death and such.

I have zero interest in electric cars. However, gas cars catch on fire too.
You are correct; however, it appears that the thermal runaway of EVs is occurring with increasing frequency. Two factors contribute to the increase, more widespread adoption, more owners mean some perform required maintenance and inspections, but with a lower cost some are not doing all the necessary work. As far as EV fires are more catastrophic than gas and diesel fires for several reasons, 1) It takes far more copious amounts of water to put out EV fires. 2) Water can serve as an oxidizer with lithium, however it is not very efficient 3) Reflashing or rekindling of EV Battery fires is very common, so after a fire is extinguished special care and procedures are necessary 4) Even slight battery damage can cause thermal runaway and fire 5) EV batteries and lithium compounds burn far hotter than gasoline (5,000 degrees Fahrenheit for an EV versus 1,900 degrees for an ICE vehicle) 5) EV battery fire fumes are far more toxic than ICE fire fumes

Don't park your EV in your garage either, park it in your driveway or on the street. Your house easily could be a total loss. This is one of many reasons insurance rates are skyrocketing more for EVs than ICE cars.

Good points. I would just always worry it was going to catch fire. Not that I can afford one anyway. But wouldn't even keep one if given to me. Also I leave my dog in the car when going into stores.
