Not to distract the conversation too much but....

My wife and I both salt watermelon. However, she salts apples and I salt plums. We both think the other is weird for doing this.

Never salted either, but I'm down to try it. I've got one last Honeycrisp apple at home, I'll give it a shot.

I've heard cheese and apples are great together, even Kraft singles ontop of warm apple pie. I'm not opposed to trying it, just not going to go out of my way to do so.

Um, try an apple crisp with around a 1 1/2 cups of sharp cheddar in it, with a little in the topping. It'll be the best apple crisp you ever had.

In fact, soy anything for the most part is nasty. I refuse to try tofu and bacon for fear of tainting the bacon.

On a related note, a buddy of mine refers to bacon as "meat candy". I do believe that is the best description, ever.

You won't taint the bacon. Tofu actually takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it with, so bacon+tofu = bacon flavored tofu, which obviously = win.
