Folks opinions on selling handgun to 18 year old? Had a deal set up to sell to a new member on here for a few days we finally got to meet up this evening. Gentleman never stated he was under 21 and I never asked. I declined the sell on the handgun. Is there a legal issue with it? Does it warrant negative feedback? Is it a courtesy to let everyone else know who the person is?? Thoughts, opinions let’s hear them.

Buyer should have been upfront. I guessing, he knew he could not buy from a dealer because of background check and was attempting to circumvent.

I wasn’t worried about being banned for me refusing the sell.

You can always decide who to sell to and who not. But 18 is the minimum age of a buyer for a sale of a handgun by an unlicensed person.

In this case, I’d ask the buyer to bring a parent or other responsible adult to vouch for the sale. My mom bought me my first handgun at 18 (with my money).
