Using the pre 2011-2013 drought deer numbers as a basis, I don’t think taking does is a “necessity”, AND the hunters on all sides of my place are shoot does. I don’t need the meat, but if my son wants to kill a doe or two, he’s welcome to do it.

You probably don't have the 45-1 doe to buck ratio we have. Doe killin is a job. I don't do it as much in the past though.
Edit: I did buy a third cell cam. I need to get them installed and see what's out there. Don't start running feeders until later though.

For some reason, I always like to see the old guys. Just the thought of them avoiding hunters and predators for 7-8 years I guess.

This is THE buck I want to kill. We have half a dozen other bucks on camera that dwarf him, but this is the one I want to try to take. He’s a real trophy. He’s old, he’s mature, and he’s the dominate buck in the area. I want him.
