There has been a 150 class and two 170 class bucks killed at this spot, but it hasn’t been hunted in the last 5 years due to trouble getting across the river. Thanks to the oil company having a well they need access to, there’s a really nice low water crossing now, so I mowed and got the feeder and stand set back up a couple days ago.
To answer the question how long does it take deer to start hitting a feeder, I filled the feeder on Friday afternoon, and a doe showed up to sniff around at 7:30 yesterday evening. A buck showed up to look around at 9 this morning, and two bucks showed up this evening to eat.

There’s been a bad coyote problem around my place for quite a while, and there have been years I only saw a fawn or two a year on 360 acres. I used to get coyotes on my cameras every day, but over the last couple years, I’ve been seeing less and less. The number of fawns I’m seeing has gone up too.
Having a picture with three fawns almost brings tears to my eyes.
