I’ve had good luck over the years with nocturnal bucks showing themselves in the daylight in the days surrounding the new moon. I think this is your week Meatgrinder.

On October 12, 2015 I drove 500 miles just for one evening hunt because of a new moon, and it resulted in this buck.

I may not be able to get out again until Saturday. New job leaves me with almost no vacation days. I was used to taking off tons of time this time of year. However, I got a 3 day weekend this coming weekend so going to hit it hard!

Really a nice buck retriever man. The possibility of harvesting a buck like that is why I hunt as heavy as I do every fall. I always appreciate the pics you post.

This has got to be the smallest fawn I’ve ever seen this time of year. Still has its dark color, has all of its spots and is about half the size of all the other fawns.

Got a real wierdo coming around on a place I don’t have a cell cam.
Pulled the card today.
It’s on a DMAP with biologist recommendations to remove a few mature bucks with no limits. Talking 10,000 acres plus here.
This buck is young but abnormal.
Take him to clear the genetics before breeding or let it go for another year?
I've named him the medusa buck.
