I've said this previously , but a while back I had read an article about how Gen Z is considered by some to be the most intelligent generation ever. My own experience at work and my observations of these young geniuses in action during the course of daily life has led me to believe of otherwise. No one ever had to tell me it was bad idea to eat laundry detergent but these nitwits didn't figure that out till bunch of them did it.

Sadly though they are the future and it gives me pause knowing they will be running things by the time I retire. It should scare everyone if you just give it some thought for a little bit .

The number 25 is too obscure for that many of them to answer the same imo. They heard that number some where in relation to time at some point.

Add that to my daughter's take on the majority of the students she encounters at OU, we are in trouble.

"Educated, non-educated, small town, big city it doesn't matter, we're all in trouble lol. Little to no work ethic, those that do work feel their entitled to CEO perks and benefits at entry level, etc."

No need to worry these bright young minds (or lack thereof), they will just ask AI to answer all their questions and/or solve their problems. Since it's AI there will be no need (even if they knew how) to research on their own to confirm what it tells them.
The essence of knowledge is knowing where to find it. That's all well and good. But knowing what to do with that knowledge is another thing all together.

Maybe they specialize in something else that is beneficial to their existence.
I do not know landmarks or what time in history things happened.

But i can fix anything around the house in the house or yard and anything on my vehicles.
I know some stuff.
Knowing names and dates of people and places gets me Zero points in my basic living situation.

Now i must go watch the video

Ok watched some of it and JUST WOW!

I was watching a YouTube video the other day where the young lady was asking middle-aged to older folks the questions and they couldn't answer them either.

I really wished she would also have asked each of them what political party they were registered with.
Exactly. Every person on this forum knows the answer as well.
We got an education vs an indroctionation.

The operative word in "what are we teaching our kids" is "we". Do none of these kids have parents? Why are people completely letting the piss-poor American educational system teach their kids everything? I mean, most of what I heard those kids struggle with were things their freaking parents should have taught them. All of the duffers seem to get off on picking on the failures of the younger generations, when it was OUR generations that raised them. Congratulations on your success as parents!

As dumb as some of these kids are, you can bet there were many that answered them correctly; they aren't the ones that get put in the video.

They're rationale would be " If a Quarter is 25 cents, then a Quarter hour would be 25 minutes"

... and they vote! That's what is the scary part.

More and more, it’s the sound bites that determine how these people vote. The PR department of any political party has to be on the ball in this regard, delivering not the facts but the feelings.
